![]() Year 2004- 2005 SeasonNiagara Falls, Ontario -- April 1 - 3, 2005 -- It's always nice when you win and this was NICE !!!. It took a huge effort in each and every game by all the 11 skaters and our goalie. Thanks to our call-ups for this tournament: John Ludwig, Jim O'Neill, Tim Murphy and Paul Kimmerer. Missing in action were 3 of our regulars in coach Tom Blanchard (getting re-married in Hawaii), Frank "I used to like snowboarding" Pollard, and Bob Kemp who was in St. Louis to witness his son TJ get inducted to the ECHL via the draft. We lost game #1 vs Lindsay Pastimers 2 - 1 in a game at the Chippawa arena. Lindsay also beat us last year so it's always a good game against them. Scoring for us was Paul K. Game #2 on Saturday morning was in St Catherines which was not a pleasant drive in the raging blizzard that blew in overnight. We played against Sarnia Flyers and it was another 2-1 game. Steve Clark and John Ludwig scoring the big goals for us. Game #3 was also on Saturday down at the old Niagara Falls Arena. Our competition was Goulding Park Rangers and we had a fine game coming out with a 3 - 0 win. Scoring for us Paul K. , Steve and Dave and Keith getting a shutout. That second win put us into the Consolation Finals as we finished second in our four team division. We crossed over to play the Little Britain Pioneers. It was a very good game and at the end of regualtion it was 1 -1 thanks to a goal in the dying minutes by Doug Anderson to tie it up and send us into a 5minute sudden death overtime period. There were some chances for us but nothing was going to happen until the shootout. First Dave Noble took the puck and went for the top left corner but might have been in a bit too close and the goalie just got a pad on it. Keith stopped their shoot too. Then, Eric tries it with a good hard shot in close but to no avail and Keith stops their shooter too. Paul K. is up next and he has had a hot stick so we are very hopeful and sure enough he comes through with a nice high shot to put us up as Keith stopped another. Jack is next, and gets in way to close and the puck just dribbles off the end of his stick and there was no goal. And, way to go Keith!! he stopped them again. OK, so we are up by one and each team has a shooter. We've got John Savage with the puck heading down the ice and, and well, both he and Jack need some penalty shot practice. Anyway, Keith stopped their last shooter and the tension is over and the celebration begins ! Yeaaa, we won a T-shirt. !!! Pickering, Art Thompson -- February 4, 2005 --
Markham, Ontario -- December 3, 2004 -- Thanks again to our call-ups for this tournament: Fred Kemp, John Delatorie, Dave Escoffery. Our 1st game was against the Burden Snapshots and we lost 3-2 as they as very powerful, strong, and fast. Our 2nd game was the Markham Millionaires. The third game was against Rinkles and we lost 4-2 and didnt get to play any more. And, like I said last year, '...it's an ok tournament and I think we'd go back. We didn't much like having to play 2 of 3 games in a rink across town that DOES NOT have bar in it, not to mention the fact the dressing rooms in this other rink are so dang small...'
